Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and a hashed version of your password. We never store plaintext passwords.

Trading data. We store the strategies you create, algobot configurations, simulated and live trading activity (orders, fills, positions), and performance metrics. This data is essential to operating the Platform.

Usage and technical data. We collect basic page-view analytics (see Section 4) and error reports (see Section 5). We do not collect device fingerprints, advertising identifiers, or browsing history outside the Platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Operate the Platform — execute simulated and live trades, calculate performance metrics, generate reports
  • Improve Platform reliability and fix bugs
  • Communicate with you about your account or material changes to the service
  • Generate anonymized, aggregated statistics to improve strategy research

3. Cookies and Local Storage

PropDesk uses minimal browser storage. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

  • Authentication cookie. A single HTTP-only, secure cookie containing a JSON Web Token (JWT) to maintain your session. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be opted out of while using the service.
  • Theme preference. A local storage value to remember your display theme. No personal data is stored.

4. Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual users across sites. All data is aggregated. No personal information is transmitted to Plausible. We use it solely to understand which pages are visited and general traffic patterns.

5. Error Tracking

We use GlitchTip, a self-hosted error tracking service, to capture application errors and improve Platform stability. Error reports may include technical context such as the page URL, browser type, and stack trace. We anonymize this data where possible and do not use it for profiling or advertising.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in PostgreSQL databases on infrastructure we operate. Connections to the database are encrypted. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. Authentication tokens are signed and transmitted over HTTPS only.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

If you connect a brokerage account for live trading (currently Schwab), authentication tokens for that brokerage are stored securely on our infrastructure to execute trades on your behalf. We access only the permissions you explicitly grant through the brokerage's OAuth flow.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and trading data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (such as strategy performance statistics) may be retained indefinitely.

9. Your Rights

You may request to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated personal data
  • Export your trading history

10. Children's Privacy

PropDesk is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
